Job Seekers

La Société francophone de Victoria’s employment centre is financed by the British Columbia Ministry of Housing and Social Development.  Services are free of charge.

A team of bilingual Employment Counsellors and a Job Developer are available to assist job seekers (wishing to be served in French) throughout their job search.

Our ressource area offers : 

  • Access to computers with  high speed Internet
  • Telephone, fax, photocopier, printer (for job search)
  • Telephone messaging service
  • Job board
  • Useful information for people moving to Victoria

 We also offer the following individual services: 

  • Help with resume and cover letter writing and/or translation
  • Identifying transferable skills
  • Planning your return to work (Return to Work Action Plan)
  • Local labour market information and job search strategies
  • Interview preparation and simulation
  • Access to employability programs funded by the Ministry of Housing and Social Development  (for eligible clients)

Please note that in order to qualify for case management and employment counselling, you must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and be unemployed or working fewer than 20 hours per week.  Other eligibility criteria may apply.  Please come in or contact us for more information on the employment services available to you.  Our resource centre is open to everyone.
